Publication Plan

In this lesson, with help from my questionnaire, I chose what initial ideas I wanted to use for my magazine such as title and price.
Title: Plectrum

Positioning statement: Indie rock never sleeps

Frequency of publication: Monthly

Price: £2.50

Distribution: Newsagents, Supermarkets, HMV, Magazine’s website, Publishers website, WHSmith, Bookstores, Events such as gigs and festivals across the country

Rationale: This magazine will be based around the music industry’s perspective. With articles based around the new stories and also looking back on the history different industries and artists. My magazine will be heavily based on the semantic field of music, and not going off track to gossip which I believe will be irrelevant to the fans.

Style: I want my magazine to come across relaxed and not too forced to the audience, I will achieve this by aiming to use jokey terms and interviews which include some banterous questions. Some content will be factual, just approached in a more informal way.
